A Possible Logo Change For Chrome

Posted on 08. Mar, 2011 by in News

flattr this!

It’s possible that the look of the Chrome logos, which includes Chromium, may take to a different look in the future.

Those who have been searching through source code have uncovered a sleeker looking Chromium logo. It’s realistic to imagine that this could be implemented in Chromium and Chrome as updated logos.

That may not be a bad idea. Android, for example, has a very simplified logo that is plastered in many different forms across Google’s mobile products. Perhaps having a more streamlined logo for the Chrome ecosystem is a good choice, something that the company wants to do before any sort of commercial release of Chrome OS devices through third party manufacturers.

Do you like the look of this new logo design?

The Chromium logo, of course. I don’t know how well that would look in the quad-color Chrome design.

    It’s certainly less three dimensional.

It could translate well. I would anticipate, looking at the timeline of things, that we may see the new-look quad color logo introduced at Google I/O in May. Thanks for your comment Todd.

Well, I’m posting a new Chromium OS build shortly, which should sport these new logos from what I see of the checkins/branches. Expect that in an hour or two at blog.duh.org.

I don’t think the new chrome logo looks as modern as the version 11 logo. Google have made a backward step with the logo and the logo might put off users
