Add Grouping to Tab Context Menu Appears in “about:flags”

The latest builds of the Chromium browser are showing a new feature that can be enabled: add grouping to tab context menu. This is yet another feature that increases the functionality of Chrome’s tabs, and is something that attempts to rival what Firefox has done in its newest release, Firefox 4.

A common problem in modern browser is simply too many tabs. How do we better organize tabs when there are so many of them open that you cannot see what each individual one has in it? Firefox’s Panorama tries to confront this problem by offering an integrated visual interface as well as a way to group tabs by subject or website.
The tabs context menu is what you see when you right click on a tab. With this new feature enabled, you can see that there are some new options available

“Select by domain” is for your specific websites; “Select by opener” is a little less clear. Open via a new tab? Opened via a right-click? Any suggestions?
These selections can be used for grouping and multi-tab selection, which has arrived as a feature for Chrome 12. You could then drag these off to their own instance of the browser, but surely there are other things that could be done with this. The development of the tab interface is very much a process, and developers who are interested in making extensions that can help innovate could try their hand at context menu module.
What’s your solution for dealing with and grouping tabs? Do you use an extension like TabJump or Visual Tabs?

I wish Windows Chrome users would get the Tab Expose feature in Mac Chrome, and it would color coordinate related tabs, kind of like in IE8/9.
I have tried almost all of the tab management extensions in Chrome but so far I haven’t like any. Some don’t look good, others don’t work well, just not that good.
Select for domain sounds nice. I’m going to use it once it reaches the beta channel, which is the release channel I’m on.

“Select by Opener” means that you will select the tabs which were opened by a specific separator.
I say this because there are some based web browsers which have a context menu that says “Close tabs opened by this tab”.

I believe Select by opener would be checking to see if the tab was opened by:
1) Pressing New Tab button
2) Opening a link in an existing tab in a new tab
a) Tab 1
b) Tab 2
… etc.
But I don’t know how you’d select multiple tabs in Chrome…

Opera does tab groups elegantly: Drag one tab on top of another, and the two become a group. Add a third. . . and so on.
