flattr this!

Looking at the Chromium code reports, one can now see some new imagery that is going to be used for Chrome OS’s profile manager. This is likely a whole new set of graphics design that is being implemented for the impending launch where we’ll see some exciting new developments. Because not everyone wants to have their photo as their profile, there are going to be some colorful options available otherwise, a stark change from Google’s minimal aesthetics.

It’s expected that Google will announce some sort of launch for Chrome OS during its Google I/O developer conference May 10-11. Samsung’s PC division also plans on holding a press conference in San Francisco May 11, likely to unveil its initial Chrome OS hardware.

These are noted as “default user avatars” within the Chromium codebase. You can see a whole list of them here along with other new UI changes that are coming. I find all of them most interesting and a great look for Google newest commercial operating system.

Do you like these profile avatars? Would you use one of these instead of your photo on Chrome OS?
