flattr this!

Big news from Google I/O. Angry Birds is here, on your Chrome browser, in glorious HD.That’s right. You can download Angry Birds from the Chrome Web Store Now and give those dastardly green pigs what they got coming to  them! The Chrome Edition comes complete with exclusive Chrome levels and “Chrome Bombs,” which I presume really smashes those pigs to oblivion at lightning speed.

With such a huge game coming to the neighborhood Chrome browser it really shows how far HTML5 and WebGL has come. The game rendered at 60 FPS which makes for a smooth gaming experience and will be available to play offline. I’ve given the game a try, and it works pretty well indeed.

Plus as soon as Chrome’s new one touch in-app payment system goes live, you will also be able to purchase the Mighty Eagle upgrade and really give those pigs a peace of your mind!

Angry Birds is one of the most popular casual games ever. Having this big name game available really shows Chrome Browser has become a truly viable game developing platform.

Tried out angry birds on my Win7 laptop with the latest Chrome and it wasn’t very good. Very slow and lagged a ton. I really don’t get why they put it in such a small window within the tab. I have a Win7 version that works great. They (Google and devs) really need to do much better with these web apps.
