Atrix 4G Laptop Dock Doesn't Support Multitouch

I think that multitouch is needed on the types of docks in order to compete against Apple/Microsoft.

Motorola Atrix 4G Laptop Dock demo units have multitouch trackpads -- but yours doesn't -- Engadget

Agreed. Maybe some 3rd party docks will come out supporting multi touch gestures

Maybe some 3rd party docks will come out that support... Chrome instead of Firefox.

Yeah, Daniel, I was disappointed about that too. I guess they used that since the Chrome OS isn't official yet.

Meh, the first run at a new product is never the ideal one. Good thing I am broke and won't be wanting to buy the the latest and greatest haha.

I can't believe they are selling this for $499. Way too expensive. Here's a bit where they take it apart, it's doubtful that the hardware costs nearly that much.

Jake, if you look at most of the other smart phones out there the price isn't too bad. The problem is that we have become accustomed to the subsidized price of phones with the two year contracts. Obviously the hardware isn't going to cost that much, however when you consider the markup for the manufacturer to sell it to the stores, the stores to sell it to you and the R&D costs it is easy to get to those costs.

I see what you mean... but it's still more expensive than a netbook standalone. How much are those? $300?

In my view, touch type on the pier to the competition Apple.the first run in the new product is never ideal. A good thing, I broke, do not want to buy the latest and greatest ha ha.
