New Cr-48 Shipments are Coming with Decals

flattr this!

A reader just let me know that there are decals now coming with new Cr-48 shipments. They kind of remind me a bit of the Jolibook’s designs, but clearly Chrome-centric. Maybe this is to help reduce the wear that I’ve heard that the rubber is taking, or perhaps to better identify the machines.

I would put these on my Chrome laptop, would you?

/jealous OK, I’ll admit, I’m one of the lucky few who received a cr48, and that in and of itself will make some people jealous, however, I would love some of these stickers. I have been looking for some good stickers to put on the computer as it is, but haven’t found any google goodness to put on it yet.

I’m right there with Scott M. I am one of the lucky persons to get a CR-48 but didn’t get any stickers with it :(

I love the unbranded CR-48 look. While I might throw stickers on it in an homage to the days when I was 12, it’s totally sano the way it is now, and it’s good.

I got a Cr48 when they were unveiled and managed to snag a free Chrome sticker shortly after that. It was big enough to cover half of the laptop and looked pretty decent, but I ended up removing it. The simple, matte black finish is just too slick.

If there were stickers for the corners (unlikely), I’d probably use those. The “clear coat” or whatever is flaky.

I would use them if I got them. I keep wishing I’ll get a laptop but don’t see it happening. I told a friend about it and she signed up right after I did and received one a few months ago. So frustrating when you were the one to tell her about it & yet you didn’t receive one!

[...] How is it that so few companies get it? While dozens of manufacturers will gladly slap an Intel, Microsoft, or NVIDIA advertisement on the palmrest of your brand new laptop, Google knows better than to partake in this annoying practice. Instead, it ships its Cr-48 Chrome laptop as a sticker-free slab of matte black stealth. At least it did. Now, don’t worry, Google hasn’t succumbed to the temptation to advertise (ironically) — it’s simply bundling this swank skin and a decal set with new Cr-48 shipments. The choice to apply is yours and yours alone, exactly as it should be. See the finished product after the break. SOURCE :The Chrome Source [...]
