To all the Mac fans out there: have hope. This is a high-quality post from Cultofmac on using Parallels to VM Chrome OS. Parallels seems to be the virtualization software that is more focused on the Mac market than any other OS that’s out there. Many users have had concerns that they cannot run Chrome OS because they use Apple products, but this post shows that is not always the case! I don’t know if it is possible to run Chrome OS directly off of a USB drive in Mac, so please post on the forum so we know.
Anyways, you can find the tutorial right here.
Enjoy!
The Marketing Machine For Chrome OS Has Already Begun

Did you know that there is a television advertisement for the Google Chrome Browser? I didn’t until I saw it on TV today. It starts off unassuming, and plays off almost like it’s a video game. You really can’t tell what the ad is for until the end if you haven’t seen it. Check it out:
According to Youtube, this was posted in May. While I know that Google has something to benefit from having people use the Chrome Browser (and over ten percent are now surfing with it, thanks to the new Mac release) the reality is that Google has a marketing machine just waiting in the wings for when Chrome OS is ready to be launched.
Just yesterday, it was front page news on the Wall Street Journal that Google was planning to release their own phone outside of existing service provider channels. This is free advertising for them just by putting out a press release. A lot of times Google tries to stay out of the spotlight, but more often then not they are unable to stay away from it. Case in point – this is why they need to move into creating and releasing operating systems: their economies of scale at this point allow them to do it, and they can benefit from having users running their code on their manufacturer-supported hardware.
So in a roundabout way, although it seems very un-Google-like for them to be putting out TV ads, they are testing the market and seeing what kind of success they can have. There is a marketing strategy being planned that is going to preemptively strike the market when Chrome OS is released.
